Lee Barnes

MCSP, MSC (Hons), MACP, PG Cert MSK Sonographer, Injection Therapist

Lee qualified from the University of Brighton in 2010 and has a combined 15 years of NHS & private practice experience. Progressing through his band 5 clinical rotations at Worthing acute general hospital, West Sussex, he specialised in MSK Physiotherapy in 2014 gaining invaluable experience within the public healthcare domain as a band 6 and a band 7 clinical specialist. Over the last five years, Lee been working in an Advanced Clinical Practice role specialising in lumbar spine and lower limb conditions and he has a particular interest in the rehabilitation of MSK conditions with a focus on return to sport.

Alongside his clinical roles, Lee has completed all the prerequisite MSc modules to obtain an accreditation from the Musculoskeletal association for Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP) and has more recently completed a postgraduate certificate in MSK Sonography along with an accompanying qualification in Ultrasound Guided Injections (USGI) at Brunel University. He is currently a registered member of the advanced practice physiotherapy network (APPN) and engages regularly in out of hours professional development activities. He is currently writing his dissertation on “Patient adherence and Physiotherapy outcomes in the management of Degenerative Meniscus lesions” which he aims to complete in 2026.

Alongside his clinical work, Lee also has an interest in Strength and Conditioning exercise holding a relevant level 4 qualification. This accompanies his knowledge base from an earlier undergraduate BSc in Sport and Exercise Science completed in 2005 which included modules in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Psychology, Clinical Anatomy, Exercise performance in Extreme Environments and Performance Nutrition.

Outside of work, Lee attends the gym on a regular basis and in previous years has played local, county and national Basketball for England. He spent some time training with the Great Britain 40+ Men’s FIMBA Basketball team, but, like many, found that the physical burden on his body was too much to regularly compete. He is passionate about helping individuals with competitive mindsets to maintain their Musculoskeletal health in the long term and compete in local and international competition for as long as they can.
