Dr Ruth Swainston

Dr Swainston originally comes from Yorkshire and trained at Birmingham Medical School, qualifying in 1996.

Dr Swainston moved to Guernsey in 2002 and has been working at Queens Road for over 20 years.

She enjoys all aspects of general practice but has a particular interest in children and women’s health. Ruth is an integral part of our occupational health service, which includes management and pre-employment assessments, advising employers about how to keep their staff health and improve well-being at work.

Dr Swainston is married with 2 children and especially likes spending her free time enjoying the beautiful environment Guernsey offers, walking her dogs and sea swimming.
