Young People's Health (aged 12-24)

We are dedicated to providing a broad range of General Practice services for all ages, with a particular emphasis on supporting young people through their transition from childhood to young adulthood.

This period of life is marked by significant physical, emotional and mental changes. It’s also a time when young people begin to take ownership of their own healthcare, including decisions about privacy and the need for their parent or guardian to gain their consent to access their clinical records.

Chaperone services

If a young person would like a chaperone present during their consultations or examinations we are happy to provide one even if the parents or guardians are present. Chaperones can be requested for a variety of reasons, whether that’s medical procedures, personal comfort, or cultural or religious reasons.

Chaperones are trusted members of our staff who follow strict confidentially protocols. To help us accommodate your request, please let us know in advance whenever possible.

Sexual health support

Young people should feel comfortable talking to their GP for any reason, including about their sexual health. Our team includes doctors with expertise in sexual health, ready to offer advice and guidance.

For individuals aged 16-21, free contraception is available through Choices Clinic and Orchard Clinic. Whatever your needs, we are committed to helping young people stay safe, healthy and confident.
