Along with the introduction of this policy we have also introduced a Neurodiversity Champion Team who will strive to achieve this vision.

The practice aims to:

  • Promote awareness and understanding of neurodiversity and celebrate cognitive differences
  • Ensure Neurodiversity doesn’t act as a barrier for people when they require access to our services
  • Improve the overall experience for those with Neurodiversity
  • Support Neurodivergent staff with inclusive workplace practices
  • Embed neurodiversity in our clinical governance and service design

Diversity & Inclusion

Diversity & Inclusion

At Queens Road Medical Practice, inclusion is central to how we care for our patients and support our team. We believe that when people feel valued, understood, and supported, outcomes improve — for individuals and for our wider community.

Improving Patient Experience and Outcomes

We actively listen to our patients through surveys and feedback to ensure our services remain accessible, respectful, and responsive to individual needs. Our care is grounded in a flexible, person-centred approach wherever possible, recognising that no two patients are the same and that adjustments can make a meaningful difference to health outcomes and overall experience.

As part of this commitment, we have introduced practical measures such as sensory items in our waiting areas to reduce anxiety and improve comfort, and communication boards to support non-verbal patients and those who benefit from visual aids. We continue to review and develop further adjustments to ensure our environment remains welcoming, inclusive, and responsive.

Our Commitment in Practice

We are proud signatories of Guernsey Employment Trust’s Employer’s Disability Charter, committing to remove barriers to employment, provide reasonable adjustments, and actively encourage applications from disabled candidates.

Our Diversity & Inclusion Committee and Neurodivergent Champion Group help shape policy, raise awareness, and promote neuroinclusive practices for colleagues, patients, and visitors, ensuring inclusion remains embedded in everyday practice.

Ongoing Commitment

Inclusion is an evolving journey. We provide ongoing training, seek regular feedback from staff and patients, and continuously adapt our approach to ensure everyone feels respected, supported, and able to thrive.

By embedding inclusion into all that we do, we strengthen our workforce and enhance the quality, safety, and effectiveness of the care we provide.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Statement

At Queens Road Medical Practice, corporate social responsibility is built into how we care for our patients, our people, and our community. We are committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centred healthcare while operating in a way that is ethical, sustainable, and supportive of the wider Guernsey community.
