Dr Brereton qualified in Belfast in 1984 and is a member of both the Royal College of General Practitioners and of the Royal College of Physicians.

He is accredited (by the British Association of Dermatologists, The Royal College of General Practitioners and the Primary Care Dermatology Society) as a GP with Extended Role (GPwER) in skin lesion management.

Dr Brereton undertakes assessment of moles and other skin lesions as well as minor skin surgery and cryotherapy with liquid nitrogen.

Dr Brereton is currently the Vice Chairman of the Practice and sits on the Management Committee as well as being the Clinical IT lead at the Practice.
