Preventative Care
The Practice is developing a range of offerings, all of which will be ‘preventative’ in nature and will look to create long term improvements in an individual’s health. These could include the identification of conditions through genetic screening, early identification of Pre-Diabetes or helping older members of the community plan for a long and healthy retirement.
The first of these programmes will be genetic screening for Familial Hypercholesterolemia which launched in October 2019 and provides the first ever free screening programme for this condition to be conducted in Primary Care (at the Doctor’s) anywhere in the UK/ Europe.
The next programme we are launching is a free Social Prescribing Link Worker, where patients can sit down and discuss, one on one, with a trained member of staff how they might like to work on improving their health and happiness through utilising available services on Island. This service launches on 10th February 2020.
It will be our intention to try and make as many of these services free at the point of use for patients through our collaboration with The Health Innovation Charitable Trust.
We will update this page as new offerings become available.
